Practice Note April 2023

Lord Reed, as President of the Supreme Court and Chairman of the Judicial Committee, has issued the following practice note in respect of the United Kingdom Supreme Court (UKSC) and Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (JCPC):
The UKSC and JCPC will be making changes to their respective Practice Directions to reflect current practice. The changes are made in the following sections;
- Guidance on interventions;
- Guidance on judgments; and
- Guidance on costs.
The relevant practice directions are attached in tracked changes.
Parties are reminded that hard copies of electronically-filed documents are no longer required, except for the key documents bundle, which must be filed in hard copy.
The changes to the Practice Directions will take effect from the first day of the Trinity Term (on Tuesday 6 June 2023).
