Supreme Court takes the inside outside
13 September 2021
The Supreme Court (UKSC) is pleased to be part of the Inside Out festival | Westminster City Council that brings art, entertainment, and culture outdoors to the streets of Westminster. The festival runs from 10 August to 31 October with a variety of venues participating.
Pop-up exhibition
Come and see a pop-up exhibition outside the Supreme Court building, from early October, based on artist Catherine Yass' work Legacy. This work was originally commissioned by Spark 21 to celebrate one hundred years of women in law and to commemorate the centenary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act in 2019. The pop-up exhibition will put her work in the context of the history of women in law.
The building is open to the public and visitors are welcome to view the original artwork, which is displayed in Courtroom 2. It's possible there may be a hearing taking place in the courtroom, so please come and watch the Supreme Court in action, as long as there are seats available.
Join a newly developed Outside Tour around the Supreme Court building and discover more about the Court and the architecture of its magnificent Neo Gothic building.
Outside Tours are free and run twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am, from Tuesday 5 October, weather allowing. There is no need to book. If you want to check if a particular tour will go ahead, on the day contact enquiries or call 0207 960 1900/1500.
You are welcome to visit the Court after your tour, take a look at our courtrooms and learn more about the Court and its work in the exhibition centre.
